Parenthood can be tough. And when things get tough, we can all use a bit of help. This course is designed for parents (all parents regardless of their kids’ age) - It’s about developing a healthy habit with emotion regulation so that you can handle the tough moments that come your way - it’s about rejuvenating you, the parent - so that you can re-discover, re-energize, and re-centre in the present moment. Based on mindfulness, attachment theory, and brain-based parenting, what you will get in each lesson is: - a short lesson - an emotion regulation strategy - a guided practice (meditation) - a home practice suggestion When we approach the day with mindful awareness and the ability to settle strong emotion when it bubbles up, we are more present with others and experience greater ease in bravely showing up as our authentic self. I look forward to having you in the course! Here is an outline of the course: 1. Breathe: Using the breath to calm emotion 2. Feel: Understanding the felt sense of emotion 3. Release: Mindfulness and letting go of old narratives 4. Affirm: Releasing perfectionism and self-critical thoughts 5. Befriend: Learning to include yourself in your caring 6. Relex: Settling a busy mind at the end of the day 7. Sleep: A guided meditation for sleep
